Country Jamming

$290.00

Level: Proficient Beginner - Intermediate

Teachers: Michaela Mae & Ryan Harlin

Dates: Tuesdays 7:00-8:15pm, October 27 - December 15

Country music has a deep well of great songs to play, from timeless classics to more modern favorites. Designed for musicians who are comfortable on their instrument, this class is all about learning to play country music in a group setting. We’ll build a repertoire that spans generations of country music while sharpening the skills that make a band sound tight: solid rhythm, listening, tasteful fills, backing up singers, singing harmony, and stepping into instrumental breaks with confidence. Expect plenty of honky tonk, heartbreak, twang, and good old fashioned country jamming. Pull up a chair, ’cause we’ve got some boot scootin’ songs to play!

  • Prerequisites:

    • Play one of the core acoustic roots instruments: guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel, or another instructor-approved instrument

    • Ability to transition between basic chords with relative ease

    • Comfort keeping a steady rhythm and following chord progressions by ear or from a simple chord chart

  • Who: 18 years+
