At The Folk Farm, private lessons are taught exclusively by our founder, Michaela Mae who offers her knowledge in voice, piano, guitar, harmony, and songwriting. Lessons are rooted in the traditions of folk, Americana, country, and bluegrass. This music is welcoming, approachable, and deeply connected to community.
For beginners, lessons focus on building a strong foundation and the confidence to play, sing, and enjoy music right away. Because roots music often uses just a handful of chords and simple rhythm patterns, even brand-new musicians can start making music quickly and share the joy of playing with others.
