The Folk Farm was founded by Michaela Mae, who dreamed of creating a warm, welcoming space where music and community grow hand in hand. Along with our excellent teachers from the vibrant North Bay roots music scene, she invites students of all ages and backgrounds to discover their own voice through music.

Our group classes are at the heart of what we do. Making music together is more fun and more inspiring than practicing alone. In every class, students of all levels learn to strum, sing, jam, and support one another, building confidence and connection along the way. Folk and roots music is the music of the people. With just a few chords and simple strumming patterns, anyone can be a part of making music. Beginners can sit right alongside more experienced players and share in the same joyful sound.

In addition to group classes, we offer private lessons in voice, guitar, and piano, each tailored to your individual goals and learning style. Whether you want to sing with confidence, play your first song, or grow as a songwriter or performer, we are here to support your journey.

Come join us at The Folk Farm Music School, where music truly belongs to everyone.
