Level: Intermediate-Advanced

When: Wednesdays 7:00-8:15pm, October 21 - December 16 (Skips Thanksgiving week)
This 8 week course is for bluegrass musicians who have learned the basics of one or more bluegrass instruments and are able to play along at jams, but who are also ready to take their involvement in bluegrass to a deeper level. Still relatively new to the world of bluegrass, our target audience is eager to have a deeper understanding of the structures of bluegrass music, a broader understanding of repertoire, and a better understanding of how bluegrass musicians communicate and play different roles within a jam or band. This is a class about building community through knowledge and expertise.
Pre-requisites:
Intermediate-Advanced playing on one of the core bluegrass instruments (guitar, upright bass, fiddle, banjo, dobro, mandolin)
Ability to play along at jams on one or more bluegrass instruments
Desire to listen extensively to bluegrass repertoire on a weekly basis
Willingness to lead and sing a song during a class jam
