Afterschool Bluegrass Club (Youth Class)

This twelve-week class invites 5th–8th graders to discover the joy of bluegrass jamming. Taught by experienced musicians and music educators, the course immerses students in the tradition of singing and playing together in an ensemble. Along the way, every child will learn the basics of both mandolin and guitar, giving them the chance to try out two of bluegrass music’s core instruments. Using a collection of Bluegrass songs and Old Time tunes, students will also build foundational skills on their voices and instruments, learn how to play as part of a group, and take their first steps into soloing. It is open to both beginners and kids with musical experience. Books are provided, and instruments are available if needed.

When: January 28th - April 29th, 2026

  • No class March 30th - April 10th (Spring Break)

Time: Wednesday 4:30-5:30pm

Ages: 5th-8th Graders
